Actions beyond the call of duty, IDMP2021, ICRP, IOMP awards, MPWB, and CME credits for IOMP webinars

Dear Colleagues,

In August 2021 issue of the newsletter, we invited submission of the actions beyond the call of the duty. We are happy to present a submission that we received and was found to be suitable for inclusion.  It pertains to Prof. Perry Sprawls who used extensive physical and intellectual resources developed throughout a long University career to enrich medical physics education and clinical applications around the world. Congratulations Prof. Sprawls for your dedication. For further information, please see >>>>

We encourage you to submit your information using the link>>>

The International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) 2021 is approaching as it is always celebrated on 7th November. The theme of this year’s IDMP is “Communicating the Role of Medical Physicists to the Public”.  While you are organizing events in your city/region/country, we have organized a webinar with participation of several public communication experts and journalists.  Otherwise, it so happens that we remain within circle of our own professional colleagues, medical physicists. We have invited three important persons whose presentations will help us to develop mechanisms to interact with public at large.  Register for the webinar right away.  Please submit details of your actions and we will include them on IDMP webpage.

IOMP is an affiliate of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). ICRP is holding a digital workshop on The Future of Radiological Protection under Keeping the ICRP Recommendations Fit for Purpose.

IOMP is inviting nominations for a number of awards to be presented at the next world congress in Singapore.

Medical Physics for World Benefit is performing an international survey to investigate whether the medical physics community considers virtual mentoring to be of benefit to the community, especially for under-resourced contexts? The link to the survey can be found here: https://uwo.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_dgtHBEO2gPi2aS9

In view of great interest witnessed from large part of the world on CME credits for IOMP webinars, an independent Task Group is going to prepare norms. For further information, please see >>>>>
